She was a wild creature. Restless and electric, climbing the walls as if stillness was impossible for her. I asked if I could photograph her, drawn to the contrast between her raw energy and the vulnerability I sensed beneath it.
I met her at the Telluride Film Festival in 2019. One image, taken on a car, was carefully planned and composed. Everything that followed happened instinctively. We went for a walk, without direction or expectation, and suddenly she spotted a fountain. Without hesitation, she jumped in. That moment of surrender to impulse became the heart of her portrait. It was playful, fearless, and completely her.
