Lis Kasper has created two scarves to be a place where art can unfold in a tactile, wearable form.

‘I wanted to create a piece where art can exist decoratively on the body, while also allowing it to be hung or framed, bringing the artwork into everyday life. The scarves also allow one to bring a piece of art with you, as you travel and decorate any space to bring in your own character.’

For the past four years, Lis has been developing the idea of bringing her art into textile. This long-term curiosity has so far materialised in her first textile works — the scarves. They mark the beginning of a broader ambition to translate her visual language into a variety of tactile forms in the future.

I am fascinated by seeing my art transformed into something woven or printed, something that can be touched, worn, and lived with. Personally I love wearing scarves as a way to show my personality through accessorising — a way of dressing, styling, and expressing individuality. I do hope you will wear these scarves and be able to show your own personality, adding layers, stories, and presence.’
