From a young age Lis has had a vivid imagination. An inner world she was excited to explore, when she got her first camera at 18 years old. But it was not until her forties Lis started discovering the possibilites of her own art. And a few years later decided to exit her past career and focus solely on working as a photographer.
For many years Lis worked mainly with the portrait. Often taking the portraits of actors. Both undiscovered talents and world known actors. During this part of her career she experimented, played and learned about her own creativity with each individual portrait.
After ten years of portraits, editorials and photo art Lis felt a desire to change her artistic ways. She didnt know how, but was introduced to art therapy and immediately had a newfound passion for this way of connecting feelings, symbols and our inner world with a creative outlet. Now Lis works solely from an art therapeutic angle whenever she creates. She marked this new chapter with the solo exhibition ‘In Transformation’ in august 2025 in Copenhagen. Consisting of multimedia collage and revolving around her personal stories of childhood and menopause.
